The Commuter Computer: How to Improve Your Ridematching Results
Once you have created a profile, it is important that all sections needed to do a search are completed. One main criterion needed to do a search is a destination. By default, your employer’s location is your destination; however, you are able to add additional origins and destinations. A large number of registrants are omitting the employer’s information which results in a non-active profile; therefore, a search cannot be performed. Another tip to improve your results is to increase your search radius beyond the typical one mile and to increase your timeframe to at least an hour. The reasoning is, someone may work near you and live five miles above you, but that person may have to travel your route to get to work. Therefore, the person may be willing to pick you up. One last tip, make yourself available to be contacted by someone desiring to carpool with you; opt to share your email or cell phone.
